In addition to our in-house R&D activities, The Quartz Corp collaborates with different research institutions to advance breakthroughs in our field. Work is conducted by our own experts and scientists, as well as through an established network of professional institutes and universities.

The Quartz Corp both drives and participates in several research projects that are funded by the Research Council of Norway, the government agency responsible for promoting and funding research and innovation projects. These projects are mainly focused on product and process development, such as our new chlorination plant. Under the framework of these research activities, TQC has forged close partnerships with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and SINTEF.

  • NTNU is a one of the largest universities in Norway, with 8,000 employees and 40,000 students. Their main research focus is on technology and innovation. Our R&D department uses NTNU’s laboratories daily for various internal research projects and provides opportunities for students to assist us in our research. In addition, we co-finance doctoral, master, and student projects.
  • SINTEF is Scandinavia’s largest independent research organization, with 2000 employees, 4000 customers, and more than 60 years of experience. They mainly support us through their expertise, providing consultancy and conducting research for our publicly funded research activities together with NTNU. They also conduct independent research projects ordered by us.
  • The Quartz Corp is a part of Norwegian research centres like SuSolTech, which links Norwegian research groups in solar cell technologies with leading companies in the solar cell industry.
