Last week the global management team of The Quartz Corp visited Spruce Pine to get a deeper understanding of the impact of hurricane Helene on the company.

"I am glad to confirm that The Quartz Corp’s assets have been largely preserved and are now gradually restarting. It is a matter of weeks before going back to normal operating mode, in line with our initial statement that no disruption in supply is expected for our high purity quartz customers”, says Thomas Guillaume, CEO of The Quartz Corp.

The community around Spruce Pine has been hurt, and going back to normal will be a long journey. The Quartz Corp will continue to participate in the rebuilding. At the moment, up to 25% of its workforce is dedicated to local community response actions.

Thomas Guillaume continues:

"Being here in Spruce Pine was a quite emotional moment. Not only because many local situations are difficult, but mainly because of the admiration we have for the way this team has responded to these catastrophic events. Solidarity, ingenuity, incredible hard work, leadership; a truly amazing team in action!"

"Beyond this fantastic team, it’s a whole network of local, regional and national response entities and individuals who have stepped up to provide critical help in the area and we want to extend our gratitude to them all."
