On Friday the 11th of June, 2021, TQC Drag hosted their first volunteer day in the small town in Northern Norway. Volunteers, made up of both employees from TQC and the wider community, started their work at 8am, happy and enthusiastic to help out through the day. The day was a fantastic success, with our employees achieving even more than they set out to. A key value of TQC is looking after the communities in which we operate, and this day gave us a fantastic opportunity to live that value.
More than 50 employees participated in the volunteer day, carrying out the following projects:
- Cleaning up the wooded area at the main intersection of Drag of branches and undergrowth, and cleaning trash along the road and football fields
- New fences at five assisted living facilities
- New barbeque hut near the school
- A new slide installed at the day care, and the wooden deck was expanded. A bike shelter with a roof and side walls was also erected.
The initiative was well-received by members of the community, both young and old, and some of our younger participants even got ice-cream! The day was a perfect example of what we can accomplish together to make a difference in our local communities, and represents our dedication to looking after our communities.
